My mother is notoriously hard to please and quite frugal. Recently, after our move to the area, I decided to register her at this optician's office since she hadn't had her eyes checked in years and was struggling to see without her glasses. From the moment we walked in, the staff exhibited exceptional warmth and kindness. They treated her with the utmost care and empathy, which immediately put her at ease. Despite her initial reluctance, she needed new lenses, a fact she was convinced she could do without. However, she went to pick them up ahead of schedule and sent me not one but two voice messages filled with sheer joy and amazement. For the first time in years, she could see clearly. Furthermore, she couldn't stop talking about how nice and accommodating everyone at the optician's office was during her visit. To put it mildly, pleasing my mother is no easy feat, but somehow, this team went above and beyond. It was a heartwarming experience to witness her happiness. I wholeheartedly want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional staff at this optician's office. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are not just great opticians; they provide a level of care and compassion that is truly second to none.

The best customer service and care. I attended myself last year with the optician identifying why i get aura migraines and how i could minimise them. Which has worked. GP hasn’t been interested in this, just medication. Today, i took my 2 children aged 4 and 7. My youngest was very shy and spoke in whispers, the optician made it fun, let her warm up and spoke back to her in a whisper/quiet voice. For my 7 year old, he explained what he was doing and answered his questions in a way he could understand. When he needed glasses, the front of house staff were brilliant at helping us and giving my son all the time and frames he needed to make a choice he was happy with. The best experience I could hope for for my children.

After months of suffering with headaches I booked in at Chelmer Village Opticians for an eye test - right from the start Ray and the team were absolutely fantastic. The eye test was very thorough and professional, they then had immense patience whilst I chose the right frame - they have a huge range of designer frames to choose from! My new glasses were ready to pick up a few days later and were perfect. I would 100% recommend Chelmer Village Opticians, I will definitely be returning again in the future.

I moved from a chain opticians due to the poor service I received and have been very pleased with the superior service I received from Ray and the team at Chelmer Village Opticians. The eye test I had was more thorough than I had had elsewhere and I felt confident that the prescription I received was accurate. They are an independent opticians that are professional and friendly, helping me choose the right frames to suit me and accommodate the lenses that I need. They have a wide choice of frames at competitive prices but went out of their way to order in additional frames in alternative colours to the one that I liked! Thank you.

Very friendly & are always accommodating . Recently took my glasses in as they were loose & they tightened them & gave them a check over. Gave them back good as new! I have always been pleased with their service. I find them very professional & would definitely recommend.
